2 Skein Chenille Pet Blanket or Doll Blanket – Free Pattern

When I made a baby blanket out of Bernat Baby Blanket yarn my cats loved it so much that I wanted to make a small blanket for my cats. This pattern took about 11/2 to 2 hours to finish, depending on how fast you crochet. This is probably such a common pattern that it is possible there may be similar patterns elsewhere on the internet.

This would be great for a donation to your local animal shelter for less than $10.00.

Pattern Instructions

Skill Level: Easy

Materials: Size N Crochet Hook, 2 Balls/Skeins of Bernat Baby Blanket yarn

Note: Depending on how tight or loose you crochet you may want to eliminate a row so that you will have enough for the edging without having to purchase a third ball of yarn.

Chain 36

Row 1: In third chain from hook DC in each ch across, ch 3 turn

Row 2: DC in each DC across

Row 3-20 : Repeat row 2, at the end of row 20, do not cut proceed to edging
(If you don’t have a enough yarn for edging, eliminate a row)

Edging: Ch 1, turn, SC evenly across top edge and around, 4 SC in each corner

CD Hot Mat

Do you have any CD’s that aren’t any good, too many scratches, or maybe your CD burner didn’t burn the CD properly and ruined your CD. Don’t throw them away, make one of these.

I made this pattern today, it was pretty quick, but I think the pattern needs revised a little. It was an easy enough pattern for me to figure out, but it seems to need a few more details in a couple of spots. Maybe I would change how a couple of things are done in the pattern as well. Regardless it is a simple and quick pattern to make. If you notice I only used four rounds instead of the five rounds the pattern called for. Five rounds would have been too many. I wanted it to fit the CD snug, rather than have the CD swimming between two pieces of crocheted rounds.
